Warmth & Sun Usher in Summer Reading Program 2014

Summer Reading Program (SRP) is off to a great start at Omaha Public Library (OPL)!

Once again, the program began with warm weather and plentiful sunshine at OPL’s downtown branch, W. Dale Clark (Main) Library. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees enjoyed live entertainment, chalk drawing, popcorn, and a visit from OPL’s prairie dog mascot Scamper. Enjoy photos below, and view even more on Flickr.

The forecast is looking promising for the remaining kick-off festivities. Tomorrow, May 31, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the other 11 OPL branches will host their SRP parties.

With this year’s theme as science, it’s guaranteed to be another great summer of reading and fun! Be sure to check back often and follow Emily’s “My SRP” blog series.

In the meantime, sign up for SRP and feel free to let us know how you enjoy this summer’s events!
