Inspired By Art

Rita Paskowitz, storyteller, artist and educator

Rita Paskowitz, storyteller and “Picture This!” facilitator at Joslyn Art Museum, gave a presentation as part of the In A Nutshell: The Worlds of Maurice Sendak exhibit October 30 through December 16, 2011, at Omaha Public Library.

After stopping by to visit the exhibit in the Michael Phipps Gallery at W. Dale Clark Main Library, Paskowitz left us this note:

I co-teach the eighth grade “Holocaust to Homeland” class at Temple Israel. Seeing the Sendak exhibit gave me a splendid idea: to use his Holocaust-themed books to tie together something in the kids’ own history to an event in Jewish history in an interesting and engaging way. Thank you for this glorious project. I hope it is well attended.

Thank you, Rita, for your continued support of Omaha Public Library and for letting us
help inspire you!
